I had a day trip to Birmingham instead of a two-day trip between yesterday and today, having to cancel this Monday. Fortunately, trains to Birmingham depart at a station within a 10-minute distance from my flat. So I left my home 20 minutes before the departure. I savoured the joy of living in a house in a good location.
Arriving at Birmingham after 11 am, I promptly headed to Balti-Triangle, the mecca of balti, Birmingham curry. When I actually went to the place where many Pakistani immigrants live, there were no Europeans or Africans at all, so I, an Asian, was probably very noticeable. At the restaurant, I ordered chicken keema balti. While this was my first time eating balti, it was scrumptious. Thanks to that pot, even if I ate slowly, the curry sauce kept its temperature until late, which was splendid.
Upon returning to the city centre from Balti Triangle, I wandered around some tourist spots until the evening train left. I went to the oldest pub in Birmingham, founded in 1358, had a beer and closed my day trip to the city. On the way back, I fell asleep for a bit on the train since I was tired due to walking a lot and had a bit of alcohol.
Actually, this was my first domestic trip since York and Manchester last April. Since the expiration of my visa is approaching, I want to travel to many different places inside the UK in the future.
