While the aircraft to Tokyo was scheduled to depart at 7 pm, it didn’t start running for a while. It departed from Heathrow Airport at 7:25 pm. Despite an almost thirty-minute delay, it landed on time, at 5:15 pm in Japan.
Reserving an aisle seat, I was allocated a group whose members boarded at last. When my group’s boarding started, I successfully found my seat and then two passengers were in their seats next to mine. A woman in the window seat and a man in the middle seat were talking in English. She seemed Japanese and spoke fluent English with beautiful pronunciation. Though I was heading to Japan, her English strongly motivated me.
During the flight, I watched a sports channel. When I could watch the channel, it showed a premier league match. It was a little bit boring for me because it was the final 20 minutes but the score was 4-0. I didn’t know the sport well but I know it was quite difficult to turn over the score. Of course, the beating club didn’t have Lewandowski, so I couldn’t witness the fifth goal in this game.
Upon a pause with a short programme of basketball, the channel broadened the UEFA Champions League game, Paris Saint-Germain vs Borussia Dortmund. Next, I watched a golf match. Due to the control of the jet lag, I slept after finishing the golf programme.
I could sleep for only three hours. I restarted to watch the channel. However, it broadcasted the UEFA Champions League game again, so I switched to another channel to watch BBC News.
Of course, I’ll mention about the flight meals. The dinner option was Japanese or beef stew and I opted for the latter. I think it was a false choice. On the other side, my breakfast choice was correct, a meat gratin.
Although the departure was delayed, my aircraft landed 15 minutes earlier than scheduled. My parents picked me up at the arrival terminal and I returned my home for the first time since last August.
